Business 101 Series

Disrupt or Be Disrupted. Gaining Advantage in a Digital Economy in Atlantic Canada

Featuring Giles Crouch

Emerging digital tools such as mobile, the Internet of Things, social media and advanced analytics are changing the economic landscape everywhere, whether you're manufacturing windows, software, or even cardboard boxes.

Research by MIT Sloan shows that companies who truly leverage digital tools, not just for marketing, but for operations, HR and customer service, outperform competitors by 26% with higher profit margins. Business needs to leverage digital opportunities today, not just to thrive, but even to survive. This workshop is designed to benefit any type of business. It may well be one of the most important workshops a senior executive or entrepreneur can attend!

This session is about the business of technology. It will also provide insight into businesses that are leveraging digital opportunities right here in Atlantic Canada to gain competitive advantage. The world is hyper-connected, new trade agreements like the Canada-EU Agreement which will soon to come into effect will see new entrants with advanced, digitally-oriented business models impacting Nova Scotia businesses.

There are many opportunities, but few guideposts to navigate executives through the bewildering array of new tools before them. This workshop is the guidepost!
