Business 101 Series -

Restrictive Covenants: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Featuring Robert ("Robaire") Nadeau

"Restrictive Covenants are not worth the paper they're written on… right?"

Restrictive Covenants. We hear a lot about them these days… in the press, at conferences, around the water coolers… in the courts!

But what are they, really? We hear from all quarters that they are unenforceable… yet we need them. How else is a business going to protect its trade secrets?

This workshop will address the following questions:

  • What are "Restrictive Covenants"?
  • Why do they matter?
  • Are they enforceable, or aren't they?
  • How long is too long? How wide is too wide?
  • What if there is nothing in writing?
  • Do you need them if you have a Confidentiality Agreement?
  • Are they still binding if the employee is wrongly fired?
  • What role do they play in the sale of a business?

Restrictive Covenants can save your business, or they can take it down.

What side of that divide do you want to be on?

You won't want to miss this one.
