The PMP Study Group will offer eleven Tuesday evenings of structured reviews of each of the five process groups and nine knowledge areas within the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Fourth Edition in preparation for writing the Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Exam.
Who Should Attend?
The PMP Study Group is intended for PMI Nova Scotia Chapter members or non-members who are preparing to write the PMP certification examination. Its purpose is to provide a framework to assist participants in their individual self-study preparation. This series is very specifically targeted to the PMP examination, and should not be construed as instruction to learn how to manage projects. Participants are expected to have basic Project Management knowledge through experience and/or education prior to attending this series.
Each session is facilitated by a certified Project Management Professional. Each presenter follows established guidelines for the series. All material that is presented is consistent with and supports current PMI published standards. The PMP Study Group offers a structured review of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Fourth Edition, to facilitate the understanding of the 9 knowledge areas and the 5 process groups on which the PMP exam is based. This is supplemented by additional reference material, tips and guidelines, exercises, opportunities for discussion, and questions, questions, questions! Plus software that provides simulated test questions and sample exams as part of the Study Group material.
Registration and attendance at all 11 study sessions will satisfy the 35-contact-hour education requirement to qualify to write the PMP exam.
