Abstract:

Topics discussed will include the forms of intellectual property protection available for software, with a focus on software patents. This will include discussions of different kinds of patents (method vs. machine), as well as differences in international patent laws with respect to software. Finally, there will be a discussion of open source software as it relates to intellectual property.
