Atlantic Landscape of Women in Tech. - a regional overview of opportunities and challenges:

Join this free 45 minute inaugural Teleforum to learn more about the current Atlantic Landscape for Women in Technology. Listen to the unique perspectives of two of Atlantic Canada’s own amazing women in technology to understand how we can work together to encourage women to enter, remain, and succeed in our sector. Join the discussion and participate in an interactive forum following our speakers’ presentations to provide your own regional perspective!

Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT, a Division of CATAAlliance) has recently launched an Atlantic Chapter to bring together and support women in Atlantic Canada’s technology sector, providing opportunities for career growth, collaboration, and networking fun! Our aim is to help women at all stages of their careers, from new entrants to the industry to those in more senior positions, as well as women entrepreneurs.

Our Expert Speakers:

Shelley Hessian – Manager of Entrepreneurial Programs, Innovacorp
Shelley Hessian has more than 15 years experience working with small and medium business enterprises, specifically in project management, business development and planning, and strategy implementation. Joining Innovacorp in 2007 as project manager of the organization's I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition, Shelley has been instrumental in the growth and success of the competition, which now happens every two years. She also runs the Early Stage Commercialization Fund, manages Innovacorp's other university and college outreach activities, and works one-on-one with Innovacorp's early stage technology client companies.

Eunice Hooper – Director and Founding Partner, E-By Design Technologies Inc.
Eunice Hooper is Director and Founding Partner of E-By Design Technologies Inc., and a designated Project Management Professional. She is currently working in St John's NF in the telecom sector. She has worked closely with NGOs and private Industry (e.g. Electronic Arts) to successfully manage and deliver multi-million dollar software projects. Eunice's role at E-By Design is strategic planning and execution. Her fresh and simple approach to business reveals an uncanny ability to see patterns where none were obvious. Through a relentless belief that people make the difference between success and failure, she has guided many an individual and an organization through organizational change to success. She is a trusted advisor and a truly dedicated Director.
