In Part 2 of our 3-part series, Jennifer LaPlante from DeepSense will explain how participants can bring working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Attendees will be introduced to free and easy ways to explore these technologies such as how to build a chat-bot feature or use image prediction and classification. The session will also cover methods participants can use to compare possible AI & ML initiatives.

Participants will walk away with:

• Knowledge of online tools available to start integrating artificial intelligence into their businesses or organizations
• Methods to compare possible AI & ML initiatives

Please Note: While this is a 3-part series on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, attendees are welcome to participate in any number of sessions. It is not necessary to participate in Part 1 in order to attend Parts 2 or 3.

About Jennifer LaPlante

The Executive Director of DeepSense, Jennifer LaPlante is a passionate leader with broad experience in innovation, analytics, strategy and technology. LaPlante’s career began in research and analytics in Ontario before expanding into more technological roles after moving to Atlantic Canada. She holds an MBA and is currently working towards an MSc in Computing and Data Analytics.

She is also a co-organizer of the Halifax Chapter of Women in Machine Learning and Data Science (WiMLDS), a global organization that aims to support and promote women and gender minorities who are practicing, studying or are interested in the fields of machine learning and data science. She also holds positions on numerous not-for-profit boards including the national board of the Arthritis Society and the locally based Victoria Hall Society, which provides financial support and housing for senior women.
