‘Meet the Neighbours: Research, Industry and Commercialization’

Save the Date: November 29th, 2011
4-6 pm, Atrium, Life Sciences Research Institute, Dalhousie University

The Brain Repair Centre in partnership with NSERC will be hosting a networking event on November 29th. Invitees will include all Brain Repair Centre members and their trainees, as well as faculty and trainees from Dalhousie University and other Atlantic region universities and research centres with an interest in clinical and applied basic neuroscience research. Representatives from industry, government, and research funding organizations are also invited.

The purpose of this event is to bring together scientists, clinicians, trainees, government and industrial partners with an interest in translational neuroscience. This networking event will reveal to participants the potential for collaborations within the Atlantic Canada neuroscience community and with government and industrial partners. The event will focus on generating research-industrial partnerships to drive commercialization and technology transfer.

We hope to provide an entertaining and innovative way to network with others interested in translational neuroscience research and commercialization. This networking event will build on our past networking success in March 2011: 100% of those participants providing feedback reported the event met or exceeded their expectations and would attend future events, while 87% reported making a connection that could lead to a new collaboration.

So please join us on November 29th at 4:00 pm. Refreshments and light dinner will be provided. Prizes for student travel and an educational grant for Faculty/Industry personnel will be available.

Please RSVP by November 15th to Lynn McKenna (lynn.mckenna@dal.ca) by indicating your name, organization, department and position (e.g., faculty, trainee, or name of company). Due to the nature of this event, enrollment may be limited.
