Cybersecurity Essentials for Business Leaders

Course Description:

This course will empower managers or executives, regardless of technical skills, to implement and manage an internal cybersecurity program at their own company. This program will enable them to safeguard themselves and their customers from the leading causes of cyberattacks and data breaches.

Participants will learn the basics about protecting their company from ransomware, cyberattacks, email phishing, and other modern threats primarily using the budget and resources they have on hand. Business leaders will get steps to cultivate a security culture at their company, become an advocate for security awareness, and implement critical information security policies and procedures.

Participants will be provided with free resources, including templates, agendas, policy examples, tabletop simulations, and lists of recommended free or affordable tools for building their security program. This course consists of eight 2 hour sessions and two 1 hour one-on-one sessions.

  • How security Takes a Team
  • Knowing Your Risks
  • Building Your Security Program Foundation
  • Making an Actionable Implementation Plan
  • Responding to Cyberattacks and Security Incidents
  • Evolving Privacy Regulations and Compliance Requirements

This course is designed for:

Instances of cybercrime and human error leading to data breaches or serious business disruptions are a growing threat to businesses of all sizes, and in all industries. For Digital enterprises for whom make their entire living via online business channels, especially ones that do not have in-house cybersecurity experts, training can help fill this critical skill gap are especially venerable.

About the Instructors:

Justin Gratto, CISSP - Senior Director of Product at Securicy (primary instructor)

Justin Gratto is a Canadian Army veteran, experienced information security professional, and the Senior Director of Product at Securicy. Justin is accountable for product ownership at Securicy, a SaaS platform that assists businesses through creating, implementing, and managing their information security and privacy compliance program. He leads the customer success team, coordinates advisory service delivery, and holds the responsibility of Security and Privacy Officer at Securicy. He is from Nova Scotia, Canada.

Darren Gallop, CISSP - CEO and Co-founder of Securicy

Darren Gallop is a tech entrepreneur, information security expert, Techstars alumni, board member, and the CEO of Security. He co-founded Securicy and led the team to develop a SaaS product that guides businesses through creating, implementing, and managing their information security and privacy compliance program. Gallop previously co-founded Marcato and was CEO there for 10 years, until the a successful event management software company was acquired by Patron Technology. He is from Nova Scotia, Canada.

Russell Radzikowski - Customer Success Manager

Russell is a customer success leader with over seven years of experience in the implementation of networks, software, and database systems that process and store personal and confidential information. He has also worked in a wide range of technology environments including educational institutions, public infrastructure organizations, and startups. His diverse experience and skills enable him to deliver maximum value to customers.
