The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) are currently recruiting companies to participate in an upcoming trade mission to Norway from March 8 to 12, 2010.
Last year, Nova Scotia companies exported more than $22 million in products to Norway. With the new free-trade agreement announced in April 2009, Canadian companies exporting their non-agriculture merchandise will not have to pay duties upon entry to Norway.
The market has an abundance of natural resources such as petroleum, hydropower, fish, forestry and minerals. With the 2nd highest GDP per capita, Norway offer business opportunities in a variety of sectors including:
- Petroleum and gas
- Food processing
- Shipbuilding
- Pulp and paper products
- Metals and chemicals
- Timber and mining
- Defence & aerospace
- Fishing
As a participant of the trade mission, you will benefit from:
- A business matchmaker with expertise in doing business in Norway will work with you to help meet your objectives and identify business opportunities specific to your company.
- Prior to the mission, the business matchmaker will set up one-on-one in-market meetings (up to a maximum of six) for you with potential leads.
- Ground transportation to and from business meetings.
- Networking events to assist you in market entry or expansion.
You are responsible for the costs of round-trip airfare, accommodations and meals.
