Sahil Ahuja is Volta’s Senior Strategic Projects Coordinator. He works with the Partnerships & Programs team to plan and launch programs for the community such as Volta Academy and LEAP. Meet the Panelists
Vanessa 'Nessy' Thomas is an experimental digital and mixed media artist. She enjoys experimenting with a variety of tools, and techniques to produce work that represents an expression of her worldview, informed by layers of Black experience.
Recently, Nessy began to invest in her craft as a full-time artist. She created her debut collection, MxSe in 2021 before hearing about NFTs. After connecting to active members in the Web3 community, she learned about the exciting opportunities for artists who use this technology.
Nessy has since seen the successful rise of MxSe and has built a team that is working on a second digital art collection that will be unveiled in 2022.
Keegan Francis is an entrepreneur working in the domain of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. He cofounded a podcast and content agency GoFullCrypto with Mrugakshee Palwe in 2020. The company produces written cryptocurrency guides, explainers, op eds, and news. Keegan sees that social media is being actively shaped by the emergence of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Topics such as the metaverse, NFTs, web3, attention economy, are often ill-defined and tangled in webs of misunderstanding. Keegan brings his 9 years of experience in the cryptocurrency industry to Digital Nova Scotia so webinar attendees can go home with a concrete understanding of what these concepts are, and how they are changing the present, and will continue to shape the future.
Giles Crouch is a digital (cultural) anthropologist and principal at NordSpark, a UX research and strategy firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His work helps tech startups & organisations deliver more human-centric digital products and services. Giles spent 20 years in technology marketing and has applied his background in cultural anthropology to the digital world for over a decade. He is regularly interviewed on the impacts of technology and society by news media across Canada and internationally. To date he has worked on over 200 netnographic, UX research and strategy projects. Through sister brand NordSpark, Giles works as a fractional CIO for small business in Atlantic Canada.
